A signed and dated consent is not required before a moderate sedation procedure is performed.

Medication allergies must be documented on the moderate sedation paper record.

The required moderate sedation pre-assessment to determine ASA level and Mallampati score can be completed by nurses.

All medications, including MD administered propofol, must be completely documented on the moderate sedation papaer record with dose, time and initials.

Propofol musts be documented under the 'comments' section to comply with regulatory requirements.
