Mr. Raine is truly a talented writer andin this poem of his, he was able to describe some ordinary things in lifein extraordinary ways. For example, look at how he describes a mothertrying to calm her crying baby: “If a ghost cries, they carry it to their lipsand soothe it to sleep with sounds. And yet, they wake it up deliberately,by tickling with a finger.” Reading this poem of Mr. Craig Raine remindsme of the riddles or bugtong that I enjoyed guessing as a child. Icompletely appreciated reading this poem of his!
