This occurs at depths between 70 km and 300 km.

This occurs at depths greater than 300 km.

A type of seismic wave that can only move along the surface of Earth.

It is the fastest type of body waves. It is the first to be detected by seismograph during an earthquake.

They travel slower than P waves. They arrive at seismograph stations after P waves.

These are dispersive surface waves with horizontal motion, perpendicular to the direction of wave propagation.

These make an elliptical movement against the direction of wave propagation. These are much like rolling ocean waves.
