"A Day at the Sports Festival"
Last Saturday, our school organized its annual Sports Festival, an event that combines competition, fun, and community spirit. The day started early, with a parade of all the participants marching around the school field, each class holding colorful banners.
After the opening ceremony, we enjoyed a light breakfast — some fruit and a bowl of cereal with milk. Everyone was buzzing with excitement, especially those competing in the netball matches. Our team was nervous but prepared, having trained professionally for weeks in advance. Our coach reminded us to stay focused and play fair.
The tournament included several sports, but netball drew the biggest crowd. We felt a little scared at first, facing last year's champions. But as the match began, we relaxed and concentrated on our strategy. The first half was tough, but by the second half, we found our rhythm. I managed to score two goals, and our team cheered loudly.
After the games, everyone sat together on the grass, eating toast and chatting about the highlights of the day. We helped the staff tidy up the area, collecting water bottles and putting away equipment. It was a long but rewarding day, and although we didn’t win the tournament, we had an unforgettable time.
By the end of the festival, we were exhausted but happy. Events like this remind us that relaxing, trying your best, and enjoying the moment are just as important as winning. ==> The Sports Festival began with a parade of participants.
