  • Q9
    How does a relay work?
Relay's do not have any kind of coils in them. The electricity runs around it and the pull and push opens and closes contacts
You can't run electricity through a relay at all because it will blow up and hurt everyone around it.
A relay does have a magnet in it but it moves the electricity around it and the magnetic force it creates on the outside is how it opens and closes contacts.
When electricity runs through the coil this creates a magnetic force. The pull of the electromagnet opens and closes contacts.
