Sarah, your employee comes to you and tells you Joe Smith, the project manager on the Phoenix project, asked her to complete a task but not to put it on her timesheet. Joe explained that they are over budget but he really needs this task completed. What do you do?
Advise Sarah to talk to Joe and have her explain how long the task will be so Joe can determine if the task is within the original scope of the project and if not, determine if it makes sense to explain to the client why more time and budget is needed on the project.
Advise Sarah to talk to Joe and explain she can certainly complete the task and she can put the time against NCA.

Your employee Jack, a Surveyor I, comes to you and says that the Crew Chief told him to go out to a job site that required certain safety training. Jack explains to the Crew Chief that he has not had this particular training. The Crew Chief says, "That's okay. Just wear Mike's hat as he has had the training." What do you do?
Tell Jack it's no big deal to wear Mike's hat as he can do the training later. It's unlikely anything will happen at this job site so it's better to get the work done today.
Thank Jack for coming to you and tell him he did the right thing by questioning this decision. You decide to go talk to the Crew Chief as OSHA requirements should not be violated under any circumstances.
Tell Jack the Crew Chief has full authority regarding how job sites are handled and if he says you should wear Mike's hat, then you do it. Afterall, getting to the job site on time is most important.
