Stitches are made by using machines and needles. The basic stitches are as follows: 1) Temporary Stitches: These are stitches that stay on fabric for a short time. They can remove when they are no longer useful. Examples are: i) Tacking Stitches. ii) Tailor’s tacking iii) Tailor’s marking iv) Basting. 2) Permanent Stitches: These are stitches that stay on material for ever.
