It  has  one  independent  clause  and  expresses   one  idea  or  thought.

It  has   two  simple  sentences   with  a  connecting  word  such  as  and  or  but  ( a comma  before  the  connecting  word )

Oceans  looks  blue.

The    sun  warms  Earth ,  and  it  also  give  us  light.
