    This famous Greek is known for his military leadership skills.  He was the son of King Phillip the 2nd from Macedonia and was sent to Athens as a child to be taught by Aristotle.  It was said that he was intelligent, strong, and handsome.  He helped his father conquer all of Greece, became king at age 20, and set off on an 11-year campaign to conquer more territories for his empire.  He died at age 33 having conquered more land, ruling more people, and collecting more wealth than anyone else ever had.  He is also famous for never losing a battle.

    This famous Greek is known for his work in philosophy and teaching by asking questions that would lead people to come to a conclusion and/or make a new realization about their life. This method of teaching is named after him and is still used by teachers today. He mostly taught in the marketplace and was not paid for his work. He was the first to study ethics and wanted people to choose goodness and live rightly every day.  He was arrested for corrupting the youth of Athens because many believed he taught youth to be disrespectful to their elders and turned them away from their gods.  He was arrested, found guilty, and forced to drink poison to end his life.

    This famous Greek is known for starting his own school called the Lyceum.  This school became a model for a modern university.   He loved to study animals and insects and helped develop modern science through his theories and observations.  He was Plato’s student and wrote more than 170 books on astronomy, physics, politics, art, and other subjects.  He believed that the main goal in life was to find happiness and said, “Happiness depends on ourselves.” He valued men above women and believed that the rich were more worthy than the poor.
