In preschool, Javier was identified as having delays in language and social skills. The IEP Team assessed his delays in social skills with the Achenbach CBCL (Spanish edition) which guided his IEP Goals into developmentally appropriate classroom behaviors (transitioning, sitting during circle time). The Achenbach CBCL (Spanish edition) is the only data that was collected to make this decision in preschool. Before moving to kindergarten, it was determined that Javier no longer needed his IEP goals of social skills, however, his receptive and expressive language delays were still not addressed. He was placed in a structured classroom where he did well socially but struggled in reading. When the team meets again to discuss data, they only discuss behavior and not academics. Their conclusion was to recommend him for ADHD. | Quizalize
