Tsunami
A tsunami occurs when a major fault under the ocean floor suddenly slips. The displaced rock pushes water above it like a giant paddle, producing powerful water waves at the ocean surface. The ocean waves spread out from the vicinity of the earthquake source and move across the ocean until they reach the coastline, where their height increases as they reach the continental shelf, the part of the earth's crust that slopes, or rises, from the ocean floor up to the land.
A tsunami washes ashore with often disastrous effects such as severe flooding, loss of lives due to drowning, and damage to property.
A tsunami is a very large sea wave that is generated by a disturbance along the ocean floor. This disturbance can be an earthquake, a landslide, or a volcanic eruption. A tsunami is undetectable far out in the ocean, but once it reaches shallow water, this fast-traveling wave grows very large.

How Does Rain Happen?
Rain is the primary source of fresh water for most areas of the world. It provides suitable conditions for diverse ecosystems. In addition, rainwater is important for hydroelectric power, plants, and crop irrigation. Therefore, rain is essential for life. However, how does rain happen?
The phenomenon of rain is part of the water cycle, which consists of four main processes. First, the sun heats the Earth's surface water in oceans, rivers, and lakes. This causes the water to change into water vapor. This process is called evaporation. The water vapor then rises into the Earth's atmosphere.
Next, when the water vapor reaches higher and cooler areas of the atmosphere, it cools down and changes into tiny liquid droplets. This process is called condensation. These droplets gather together and form clouds. As more droplets form, they become bigger and heavier.
When the droplets become too heavy, they fall to the Earth. This process is called precipitation. The precipitation can fall in the form of rain or snow. However, not all precipitation reaches the ground. Some droplets evaporate while falling through dry air. This phenomenon is called virga, which often occurs in hot and dry desert regions.
Finally, the water that reaches the Earth's surface collects in rivers, lakes, oceans, and soil. This process is called collection. The collected water will eventually evaporate again, and the cycle continues.

Why Floods Happen?
Floods are natural disasters that occur when dry land suddenly becomes submerged under water. This means that there is too much water covering areas, including homes. Floods are very dangerous because the overflowing water can carry objects such as trees, farms, animals, and waste.
Floods happen because water naturally flows from higher areas to lower areas. Areas at lower levels are more likely to be flooded when there is too much water. One main cause of floods is heavy rainfall. When rain falls continuously and drainage systems cannot carry the water properly, water accumulates and causes flooding.
Floods can also occur when rivers overflow due to heavy rain upstream or when dams fail because of excessive water pressure. In coastal areas, strong winds and storms can push seawater onto land, causing flooding in nearby areas. As a result, floods can damage buildings, roads, and farmland and can endanger human life.
