
Mountain - a large landform that rises high above the surrounding land. Valley- low area of land between mountains or hills Plateau - are of raised land or rock that is higher than the land around it. Canyon - deep and narrow landform Volcano - an opening in the ground where gasses and melted rock can reach Earth’s surface. Hill - rises slightly higher than the land around it Plain- a wide, mostly flat area of land without many trees Peninsula- piece of land that juts out from another, larger piece of land. It is surrounded by water on 3 sides. Delta- nearly flat area of land that forms where a river and body of water meets. Island- piece of land fully surrounded by water Isthmus- narrow strip of land with water on each side Archipelago- group of islands close together in a large body of water.
