It is also a good practice to conduct character reference checks to gain additional insights on the suitability of the candidate-volunteer.
For organizations that require their volunteers to submit sensitive or personal data or information, put in place a Data Privacy Policy and have volunteers sign a Data Privacy Consent.
Volunteer managers must ensure that all sensitive personal information of volunteers is secured and protected from possible data theft. Organizations must exert all efforts to strictly adhere to the Data Privacy Act of 2012
