PHILIPPINE FOLK DANCE

This dance is performed in a Tausug wedding i It consists of figures and steps based on classical and traditional Indian dance forms. 

It is highly favored by the Waray people of the Eastern Visayan region. Strictly speaking, it must be performed only by one couple at a time.

A mock-war dance that demonstrates a fight between the Moros and the Christians over the prized latik or coconut meat during the Spanish rule.

It is the traditional fingernail dance  which emphasizes flowing arm and hand movements. It is also a wedding dance which shows the man imitating the movement of a hawk that isabout to swoop down on its prey.

This is a bamboo dance which imitates the movements of the tikling birds as they walk between grass  or avoid bamboo traps set by rice farmers. 

 It requires excellent balancing skill to maintain the stability of the three tinggoy or oil lamps placed on head and at the back of each hand.  

This is a famous dance of the Maranao people of Lake Lanao. The name of the dance itself means "to entangle the feet with disturbing objects such as vines or anything in your path". 

 This folk dance imitates and matches the movements of an itik or duck. The dance steps Involve short and choppy steps while the itik calls for its mate. 

Folk dance  where the traditional wide-brimmed hat of the same name is embellished and worn at part of the dance costume.
