It aims to share laughter and enjoyment to the audience through witty and humorous lines.
Types of speech according to delivery
Planned and prepared speech. It is delivered with the help of short notes and a clear outline. 3 minutes is the maximum time of preparation.
Speech that is committed and delivered entirely from memory.
Delivered with little or no time preparation. You are called to speak at the "spur of the moment." On the spot with no chance to prepare or memorize.
You write and deliver a speech word for word.
It is the way we communicate varies depending on a lot of factors such as the speech context, speech purpose and speech delivery.
Types of speech styles
This style is used in formal settingd. Unlike the consultative style, this is a one-way straightforward speech.
It is a style that do not need a complete language with a clear articulation.
It is the most common speech style and informal communication
It is the most formal speech style that is usually used in formal contexts.
This style is semi-formal or standard communication. Used in everyday transaction.
Characteristics of speech styles
It displays a Marty-like attitude and a refusal to try but initiatives to improve oneself. Puts importance on other people's and rights. Pleasing others to avoid conflict.
Tricky, calculating and perceptive speech. Communicators are skilled at influencing and controlling other's perception to their own advantages. They use stories, metaphors with exaggerated movements to further convince others.

Born of high self-esteem. The healthiest and most effective style of communication. It has the sweet spot between too aggressive and too passive speaker.

Three types of speech act
Refers to the consequent effect of what was said and the aim is to change feelings, thoughts, or actions.

Communicative strategy where one speaker introduces a topic to be talked about and it is also a strategy that one uses when they want to continue an interaction.

A communication strategy where responses are limited or restricted according to a set standard.
This strategy keeps the communication flowing without moving away from the topic.
