Steven Spielberg was born in Ohio, U.S.A. on December 18, 1946. He is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. Spielberg grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. He later moved to California and studied film in college. He began his career in the New Hollywood era, and is one of the most commercially successful directors in history. As a child he used to shoot short films about flying saucers. That´s how his career started. After directing television episodes and several minor films for Universal Studios, he became a household name for directing 1975's summer blockbuster Jaws. The director of such scaryfilms as Poltergeist, Jaws, and Jurassic Park, used to be scared of just about everything. Today he is still scared of flying and taking elevators.
Nicole Kidman was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Being born, she was given the Hawaiian name "HĹkĹŤlani", meaning "heavenly star". Since child she has had lepidopterophobia, which is fear of butterflies. Kidman grew up in Sydney and attended Lane Cove Public School and North Sydney Girls' High School. Because she wanted to be a ballerina, Nicole was enrolled in ballet at three and showed her natural talent for acting in her primary and high school years. She initially studied at the Phillip Street Theatre in Sydney, alongside Naomi Watts who had attended the same high school. She also attended the Australian Theatre for Young People. Here she took up drama, mime and performing in her teens, finding acting to be a refuge.
